AO Precision Manufacturing’s in-house finishing department provides MIL-SPEC hard coat anodizing, manganese phosphate coating and dry film lubrication.
Sulfuric Acid Anodization (MIL-A-8625 Type III) Also called hard coat, hard anodizing or engineered anodizing, produces coatings thicker than 25 μm (0.001″).
Manganese Phosphate Coating (MIL-DTL-16232 Type M) Also called Parkerizing, is a method of protecting steel surfaces from corrosion and wear through an application of an electrochemical phosphate conversion coating. It is commonly used on firearms as a more effective alternative to bluing.
Dry Film Lubrication (MIL-PERF-46147D)
A fine-particle mixture of lubricating materials and binders, dry film reduces friction at cryogenic temperatures where liquids and greases can’t be used. It also works at temperatures up to 1000 degrees Centigrade and does not flash or burn after it has been applied or dried.
